overclocking means you tweak the present specs (as manufactured) of your component so that it can run faster (doing a faster clock in techies term).

for example, overclocking your processor means you run it in "faster clock". Though this can boost your processors speed it has also disadvantages like more heat is generated by ur processor.

To cope up with this, you must install an efficient fan or air flow supply unit

So in other words, your processor can burn out if you don't have enough cooling unit.
Processors are expensive..XD

yes they do burnout if overclocked improperly

you will just hear a HISS and see smoke in your CPU
